Silver Creek is your best bet for fishing in the foreseeable future. It was a mixed bag for the opener with some hatches of size 16 PMDs and small Baetis mixed in during the late morning and into the afternoons. PMDs are very big early in the season and I expect to see good hatches of these in the next few weeks. Silver Creek will be one of the few trout streams worth fishing in the West. With lots of snowpack still left in the mountains we should have high water at least until late June and into July on our other rivers. Silver Creek is clear and already having some hatches. Expect the main hatch to be a size 14- 16 PMD. Low Flows = Good Fishing

The Big Lost is still fishing great. As long as the weather stays cool the flows out of the dam have stayed low. As we warm up in the next couple of weeks we will get higher flows so go over and fish as soon as possible. Make sure you check the flows before you go – Idaho Streamflows. In the afternoons there are strong hatches of large Baetis, size 18-20. Nymph fishing is also good, make sure you have some Rainbow Warriors and Zebra Midges in different colors.
