Filo
Between two lakes runs the Filo river - Between the lakes swim large Brown trout and muscular Rainbows - Between the lakes Guides and Guests hunt for them “New Zealand style” - Walking and stalking these Andean trophies.
On the lakes themselves, anglers can fish from a drift boat and cast large dries and small streamers to an enormous population of strong fish, including trophy size rainbows and even bigger Brown Trout. Fishing the rivers successfully here requires a good skill set and some previous fly-fishing experience, the lakes on the other hand can provide wonderful action for many skill levels.

The wonderful fishing at Filo is only part of the story. Some of the greatest homemade Argentine meals you will ever encounter come from the kitchen of this rustic Estancia nestled in the Andes. Wild game and other traditional fair fill your senses, as excellent Argentine wine pours generously in perfect compliment to the meals. Guests stay in pleasant cabins on a hill over “Lago Filo.” Near the cabins, a wood fired hot tub is available to soak tired muscles from a day of activities. Horseback riding, hiking, picnicking and fishing can fill countless days in this spectacular valley surrounded by the high Andean peaks and ridge tops.
