Early Season Introduction to Fly Fishing
Early Season Weekends Only: May 3rd through June 1st, 2008.
Time: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
This is a very popular class, led by Brian Richter, accompanied by Silver Creek guides. This weekend class covers the basics, including casting, knot-tying, equipment selection, fly selection, trout food and real-time experience fishing on local waters.
Cost: $150 per student
Includes lunch and the use of waders, boots, fly rods and reels, unless you prefer to use your own. A One-Day Idaho fishing license is not included, but required.

Saturdays Only: July 12th through August 16th, 2008
Time:8:30 am to 4:30 pm

Youth Fly Fishing Class
Tuesdays & Thursdays: July 1st through August 14th, 2008
Time: 8:30 am to 2:30 pm
Taught by Kim Drummond, this class is designed as an introduction to fly fishing for ages 7 to 12. Students will learn the fundamentals of fly fishing with an emphasis on hands-on experience. Enrollment is limited to a maximum of two classes per season.
Cost: $95 per student
Includes transportation, flies and the use of fly rods and reels, unless you prefer to use your own.
Free Casting Clinics
Monday Evenings May 26th through August 25th, 2008
Time: 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Join some of our staff on Monday evenings and learn to fly cast, or brush up on that double haul technique. Stop by on Monday nights all summer long from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Big Wood Golf Course pond (below the driving range). Equipment will be provided, but feel free to bring your own.
Introduction to Fly Fishing for Women
June 19th and 20th, 2008
Time: 8:15 am to 4:30 pm
Let Julia Argyros untangle the mystery of fly-fishing, including casting, knot tying, fly selection, and reading the water. Assisted by the women's guide staff at Silver Creek Outfitters, Julia has designed a women's fly-fishing program with you in mind. Learn all the basics of fly angling, or brush up on your current skills, then spend an afternoon on the river with professional guides.
Classroom topics include equipment set up, knot tying, casting, entomology, fly selection, fishing regulations, and conservation. A good portion of the first day is spent on dry land with a fly rod in hand practicing the proper casting stroke, as well as, learning various casting techniques for use in a plethora of fishing situations.
The second morning begins with a brief review of day one, then students spend the rest of the day on the water honing angling skills and experiencing the variety of fishing in the Wood River Valley.
Cost: $600 per student
Classes include lunch, all classroom materials, use of waders, boots, fly rods and reels.
