The Big Wood is slowly becoming known as one of the most productive winter fisheries in the western United States, offering anglers dry fly action, as well as nymphing and streamer opportunities. The Wood is primarily a rainbow, cutt-bow fishery, with a healthy population of brown trout immediately above and below Magic Reservoir. There is no stocking on the main Big Wood River, so be ready for hard fighting, healthy trout!
